Thank you to our friends at Monarch Media for covering our event and for capturing some of our favorite moments.
Happy Holidays!
From our hearts to yours,
Thank you for another amazing year!!!
Dear Red Balloons,
2011 has been the year of blessings for Red Balloon. We’ve had the opportunity to partner with other amazing non-profit organizations including Vivanista, DoSomething.Org, AT&T, The Jubilee Project, and The Asian American Donor Program. We’ve also met people from across the country that want to put together their own “red balloon” benefits and use music to change a child’s life. It is incredibly humbling to see the positive influences and inspirations as a result of our combined efforts to make a difference in our communities.
Red Balloon started off as an idea; inspired by the movie of the same name, I wanted to find simple things, like a red balloon, to change a child’s life. Five years and seven benefit concerts later, the idea still resonates strong. And none of this could be possible with you; you have given these children a piece of their happy endings back.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you again for supporting and being apart of Red Balloon. Thank you for believing in me and encouraging me to step to the beat of my heart. I can never articulate how thankful I am for you, your guidance and your support. In each of you, I see how I can be a better person; in each of you, I see how lucky I am to be apart of a compassionate generation.
I am Pascal and you are my red balloons; all I am is because of all of you.
Much Love & Happy Holidays!
Jennifer Allison Tran,
Red Balloon Executive Director
Thank you!!
We had a WONDERFUL time at Red Balloon 2011 at Touro University! Thanks to everyone who volunteered, performed and attended our show. It was such a wonderful and beautiful event and we’re so honored to share it with you!
Help save a life at Red Balloon 2011!
Jamison is a 3yo from Vallejo, CA diagnosed with aplastic anemia. He is currently responding well to immunosuppressive therapy but his family knows that at any time, he may need a life saving bone marrow transplant
Amit Gupta is a 32yo Bay Area entrepreneur recently diagnosed with leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant to save his life. He and his friends have launched a massive social media campaign to raise awareness about minority representation in the bone marrow registry.
Red Balloon 2011 is proud to host the Asian American Donor Program and their patient drives for Jaimson and Amit. With staff on hand, we’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have about the process and help you register to be in the drive.
Volunteer at Red Balloon 2011!
Need some community service hours? You should donate some of your talent with Red Balloon 2011! We have numerous volunteer opportunities and we could use all the help possible.
Decorations: We have 200 red balloons, garland, white xmas lights and fun machines to set up and create a red balloon wonderland. Our color scheme is red, silver and gold and our goal is to create a warm and welcoming environment for our audience. I want people to walk into the auditorium and go “OMG”. We’ll be decorating the auditorium from 10am-2pm so stop by!
Lobby: Our lobby will be setup with fun zones (mainly to excite the child within all of us). There will be an arts&crafts table so people can make get well cards for the kids at the hospital. A backdrop will also be set up so people can take silly pictures. We’ll need at least 2 people making sure the lobby area doesn’t get too congested
Admissions: Tickets, tickets, tickets. We need 4 people at the table. Most people will buy tickets at the door and some will bring their eventbrite printouts. Each audience member will receive a red wristband, a program and their awesome red balloon bubbles.
AADP: We’re giving all of our audience members a chance to become bone marrow donors. AADP will be there to answer questions, help you fill out applications and cheek swaps. This will be a patient drive for Jaimson, a three year old from Vallejo, CA. and Amit from Palo Alto, CA. For more questions about this opportunity, please email james@aadp.org
Green Room: essentially the backstage area for our performers. We just need to make sure no unauthorized people are there!
Clean up: Self explanatory. We need to be out of the auditorium by 10pm so meet&greet needs to be over by 9:30pm!!
Email us at redballoon.staff@gmail.com for more information! 8 more days!!
