2010 has been an amazing year. I wish I had enough words in the English language to articulate how much you all mean to me and how much of an impact you’ve been to Red Balloon. So here goes…
A few weeks ago, I stopped by the hospital to witness a miracle. In our NICU (neonatal intensive care unit), there was a baby born 15 weeks premature; she spent a mere 22 weeks in her mother’s womb. She could fit in the palm of my hand. I don’t know much about babies, but I know that being 15 weeks premature does not have a great survival rate. The odds are against her. And yet, she still fights for her life. At only 22 weeks, she knows resilience more than I will know in my lifetime. But at only 22 weeks old, she shouldn’t have to fight for her life.
As a child, I never had to worry about white blood cell counts or IV lines, so it breaks my heart to know that some kids do. So for those kids that wake up to blood draws, chemotherapy and/or tubes down their throats to help them breathe, I hope Red Balloon can continue bringing a bit of normalcy into their lives; I hope Red Balloon can give them a bit of their childhood back; I hope Red Balloon demonstrates the imperative need for music in hospitals, because beyond scalpels and sutures music makes us whole again. But most importantly, I hope you will always be apart of Red Balloon and continue supporting our goals to change a child’s life.
Each and every one of you has helped build Red Balloon as it continues to grow every year. And for that, I am humbled beyond words. You are the inspirations behind Red Balloon every year. In each of you, I see how I can be a better person; in each of you, I see someone I hope to grow up to be.
I am Pascal and you are my red balloons; all I am is because of all of you.
Happy Holidays & Much Love,

“This video submission has been my personal dream for years. I decided it’s finally time to make this dream a reality. We’ll be saying goodbye to you at our November show, but saying hello to over 1000 pediatric patients in local children’s hospitals throughout Northen California. This is truly what I wanted Red Balloon to become.”
